Our Curriculum

LEARN, LAUGH, LOVE, LEAD

Oh, the things we will learn! Science. Reasoning. Construction. Dramatic play. Art. Or just plain curious about everything! We have what interests your child. Our day consists of a variety of activities that will advance their independence, cognitive, language, motor, and social/emotional skills. I believe a balance of activities and opportunities is fundamental to enhancing natural growth and development, as well as promoting a positive self-image in each child. We feel no single educational style, standard curriculum, or trend can provide that. Our philosophy for care and learning is a collaboration of various theories in education, study, and decades of observation and experience. We use a one-of-a-kind curriculum that I created from years of interacting with and caring for young children. Monthly, seasonal, and holiday themes will be used to promote curiosity and boost abilities. Our daily routine allows for both free and structured play. Group activities are designed to build teamwork and a sense of community. In addition, we encourage leadership qualities through scaffolding in our multi-age group setting.

Take a look below to learn a bit more about what we offer.

Outdoor Play

"Not all classrooms have four walls"

Our space outside is designed to provide curiosity in nature and opportunities to build skills and knowledge. Whether your child enjoys running, playing, or exploring in the great outdoors, we have something for everyone.

Children's Cooking Class

Fun in the Kitchen

"A balanced diet is a cookie in each hand"
-Barbara Johnson

Our creative time in the kitchen is designed to enhance cognitive development and encourage healthy eating under the guise of fun. As part of the curriculum, the children will be involved in a variety of activities, including prepping meals, cooking, and baking.

Imaginative Play

"Logic will take you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere." -Albert Einstein

Our play-filled day is designed to inspire imagination and creativity. New, recycled, and natural materials are just a few mediums used to spark innovation.

NURTURING EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE

We are aware that "big" emotions are evident in this phase of life. We teach about and tend to feelings by using Generation Mindful Time-in Tools. These self-awareness and calming techniques are essential for becoming emotionally healthy.

The Three R's

"Someday our children will receive the keys to the planet and will have to take care of it."   -Unknown

Our charge to protect the earth may seem inconvenient at times, but I believe our small part makes a difference. That being said, we are committed to:

REDUCE

We compost!

We have multiple composting sites where the children will learn how waste becomes dirt.

REUSE

One more time

Our "trash" will most definitely become a treasure as we create exciting projects and artwork out of boxes, containers, and cardboard.

RECYCLE

It's time to go

When there is no other purpose, we will recycle and teach what it means to be responsible for the earth.
